On December 19, 2024, the International Harp-related Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding Symposium was held in China, marking the official establishment of the association on that day.
Mission, Vision, and Goals
The International Harp-related Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding Association is dedicated to protecting and preserving the intangible cultural heritage of harp-related instruments worldwide, under the guidance of UNESCO's framework. Through research, documentation, development of digital resources, and international collaboration, the association aims to enhance global understanding and appreciation of harp-related arts, promoting cultural education and exchange.
Performance at United Nations Headquarters
On June 9, 2025 Eastern Time, our association staged the instrumental piece Diversity Respected and Beauty Shared at United Nations Headquarters in New York to mark the first-ever United Nations International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations, illustrating the global vision of harmonious coexistence of diverse civilizations.
This performance was jointly presented by four artists: Lu Lu (China), Diabel Cissokho (Senegal), Nancy Thym (Germany) and Theodore Koumartzis (Greece).
